Global survey on locations of freshwater conservation areas

Dear Colleagues,

On behalf of a group of conservation scientists at Conservation International, The Nature Conservancy, University of Nevada-Reno, USA, and World Wildlife Fund, I would like to invite you to participate in a brief survey regarding your knowledge of the existence of freshwater conservation areas in your region. Specifically, our goal is to gain an understanding of the global distribution and management of conservation areas that target freshwater fish and/or other aquatic organisms (e.g., snails, frogs, reptiles, aquatic insects) that are otherwise harvested for consumption or trade. We anticipate our 18-question survey will take no more than 10 minutes to complete. Your responses will help us to better understand the global diversity of spatial conservation strategies for freshwater fauna and to develop tools to more effectively protect these important species. We greatly appreciate your assistance on this project.

Best regards,
